INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION

1. FREELANCE TRANSLATORS

• Bear in mind that the standard service of translation is called “Translation and QA”. By “QA” we mean the quality assurance checks that the translators have to run with Memsource (our main Cat-Tool, or Trados, or any other). This quality control is carried out before submitting the completed translation assignment.
• If you offer revision services (monolingual review), please also add the service named “REVIEW” on the vendor portal. We don’t use an hourly rate for this service, but a source word rate. Please consider that the majority of translators apply a rate based on 1/3 of the standard rate of Translation and QA.
• If you offer proofreading services (bilingual), please add the services named “Proofreading” in our vendor portal. For this service don’t use an hourly rate but only a source word rate. We don’t use an hourly rate for this service, but a source word rate. Please consider that the majority of translators apply a rate based on 1/2 of the standard rate of Translation and QA.
• If you offer machine translation post-editing services, please add the service named “Post-editing” in our vendor portal.
• Please add a field of specialization (try to avoid “Any”).
• Upload also your CV where it says “File & Qualifications”

 

2. LANGUAGE SERVICE PROVIDERS

• In our vendor portal, the standard translation service is called “Translation and QA” By “QA” we mean the quality assurance checks that the translators have to run with Memsource (our main Cat-Tool, or Trados, or any other). Please consider if you offer this service you are in competing directly with freelance translators.
• If you offer standard translation + proofreading, choose “TEP”: (TEP is a service only for language service providers, not freelance translators).
• If you offer machine translation post-editing, please add your rate for that type of project.
• Please add a field of specialization (try to avoid “Any”).
• If you offer file-editing services, please add “DTP” (Desktop Publishing) and indicate a per-page rate for the page formats you are able to handle (InDesign, Illustrator, etc) — do not include an hourly rate. If you also offer file-editing services for DWG, in this case, ad a per-document rate.
• Upload also your price list and your company profile in the area called “File & Competencies” (you can also send to piero.bertuzzi@yellow.it).

 

Our new vendor portal will not send you messages like our previous platform, which we definitely regard a more user-friendly experience for vendors. 

Once you have completed your registration, we will go over your profiles and activate them — in case there translation projects suitable for you. At that point, you will be ready to receive new translation jobs directly from our PMs.
